About Us

Western Rod and Wire Limited is affiliated to Tropical Cable and Conductor Limited. The company was incorporated in 2005 and is registered under the Ghana Companies Code, 1963, Act 179 and commenced business as a manufacturer and exporter of Electrical Conductor (EC) grade aluminium rod.

Between 2006 and 2007, a feasibility study was carried out for production, sales and marketing of the aluminium rod. Machinery and equipment for the process were installed. It started its first operation with the melting of ingots which was received from Valco. Later the possibility of receipt of molten metal was considered and since then Western Rod and Wire Limited receives molten metal as its major raw material from Valco.

Western Rod and Wire Limited recognized the opportunity for aluminium alloy ingots making in 2018. Upon carrying out feasibility analysis for manufacturing, sales and marketing of the aluminium alloy ingot, machinery and equipment were installed.

From this position, WRWL discovered another opportunity for making aluminium circles between 2019 and 2020. Machinery and equipment were installed upon carrying out feasibility analysis for manufacturing, Sales and Marketing of the aluminium circles.

Through the years, we have achieved tremendous growth that has seen Western Rod and Wire Ltd as the only fully integrated manufacturer of EC grade aluminium rod operating throughout West Africa with world-class operations in aluminium manufacturing. Today Western Rod and Wire Ltd is positioned to meet and exceed our customers’ needs and expectations.

Manufacture of Copper Rods, Solar Tricycle and Electronic Cycle is also in the pipeline.
